ReachOut’s 2022-2023 Social Impact Report

The Social Impact Report details how their material is reaching users, how users engage with their content and reflects how young people are experiencing the positive outcomes of such offerings.

The report found their reach captures a broad range of users spanning a diverse range of ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, levels of mental challenges and illnesses, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

High levels of engagement are driven by ReachOut’s social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok and Facebook. Such platforms were viewed as accessible, trustworthy and credible. Furthermore, parents and caregivers were satisfied with the products and services offered across ReachOut’s platforms.

Their 2023 survey found high outcome measures across user outcome domains. Young Australians felt a greater sense of self-understanding, a deeper sense of self-validation and greater agency to support themselves. Young people also developed greater feelings of connection thus helping to reduce the stigma attached to mental health challenges.
