Shining Beacon: Republic of Ireland’s Leadership in Digital Mental Health Innovation

eMHIC News

The Republic of Ireland is a shining beacon of innovation in mental health. Generally, all governments and related agencies around the world are seen as slow-moving lethargic organisations, particularly when it comes to the adoption of digital technologies to improve access to information, care, support and treatment.

The Republic of Ireland, under the leadership of Derek Chambers at the Health Service Executive, is demonstrating visionary foresight and bold leadership by developing a national digital mental plan for Ireland which will be presented at the eMHIC’s 9th Digital Mental Health International Congress in Ottawa, Canada on 19 September 2024.

In recognition of Derek’s exemplary leadership in getting the digital mental health evolution right in Ireland by design, he has been onboarded into eMHIC’s prestigious Global Leadership Council.

Congratulations to the HSE, the Republic of Ireland, and Derek Chambers for this exemplary leadership.
