Dr. Brian Hepburn is the Executive Director of the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD). His leadership in spawning the conversation to enable the provision of mental health care for all, at the time of a person’s choosing regardless of whether they live in rural or urban areas is outstanding. This is the humble beginning of an audacious journey to get it right by design.

Andy and Brian were presented with a Korowai, a traditional woven Māori cloak to mark the occasion and acknowledge their induction in a uniquely Kiwi way. The Korowai is worn as a mantle of prestige and honor. It symbolises leadership and includes the obligation to care for people and the environment.

We congratulate both of these leaders and look forward to walking alongside them as we continue to carry out our work.
