At a time when the world urgently needs systems rooted in care, justice, and empathy, the newly launched NOURISH Initiative offers a bold and hopeful path forward.

Grounded in Indigenous knowledge, mutual care, and the interconnectedness of people and planet, NOURISH is more than a health movement—it’s a call to reimagine how we live and thrive together.

Led by a global network of practitioners, researchers, and advocates from Brazil, New Zealand, Canada, the UK, Sweden, and beyond, NOURISH aims to transform public health by centering equity and collective wellbeing. With a “whole person, whole systems” approach, the initiative seeks to decolonise public health frameworks, amplify community power, and foster lasting systems change.

In its foundational phase, NOURISH will function as a non-governmental organization (NGO) and a “network of networks”—weaving together diverse wellbeing movements already at work across the globe. Its work includes cultivating adaptive learning, building strategies for transformational change, and empowering action that is grounded in compassion.

NOURISH will officially launch on May 24, 2025, during the World Health Assembly in Geneva.
