TORONTO, Canada, A significant milestone in the evolution of global healthcare was marked on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, as the eMental Health International Collaborative (eMHIC) unveiled Interconnected, the world’s first retail magazine dedicated exclusively to Digital Mental Health and Addiction.
The launch took place during the landmark 10th Anniversary of the Digital Mental Health Global Congress in Toronto, a setting that underscored the publication’s mission to bridge the gap between technological innovation and human-centric care.
A Decade of Collaboration
The release of the inaugural edition serves as a capstone to a decade of work by eMHIC. For ten years, the collaborative has served as a nexus for lived-experience leaders, policymakers, clinicians, academics, and innovators. While the organisation has long been committed to advancing mental health through digital means, the launch of a retail publication signals a strategic shift toward a broader global audience.
“This milestone inaugural publication marks a new chapter for our global community,” stated Anil Thapliyal, Executive Director of eMHIC, during the launch address. “With Interconnected, we extend our mission… showcasing the breakthroughs, best practices, and partnerships that are transforming how people access mental health information, care, support, and treatment.”
Championing Lived Experience
Central to the magazine’s philosophy is the belief that users must be at the heart of innovation. Thapliyal emphasised that the publication is deeply rooted in eMHIC’s commitment to co-design.
“As eMHIC takes pride in its core foundational principle of authentic inclusion of people with lived or living experience in the design, development, and implementation of digital mental health solutions, eMHIC is proud to celebrate on its cover page Taimi Allan,” Thapliyal stated.
Allan, a noted lived experience leader and the Mental Health Commissioner for South Australia, graces the inaugural cover, symbolising the powerful union of personal advocacy and high-level policy that the magazine aims to promote.
The Voice of Innovation
Interconnected positions itself as a trusted voice for decision-makers in a rapidly expanding industry. Moving beyond theoretical discussions, the magazine is designed to spotlight evidence-based, scalable, and sustainable innovations. By highlighting success stories from various countries and disciplines, the publication aims to reshape how mental health care is delivered and accessed on a global scale.
The magazine will focus on three core pillars:
- Redefining Accessibility: Exploring how digital tools are making equitable care possible in the modern era.
- Global Breakthroughs: Celebrating extraordinary progress and cross-border collaboration.
- Investment & Growth: Inspiring continued investment in the digital mental health field.
Looking Forward
As the Digital Mental Health Global Congress celebrates its first decade, Interconnected represents the future. By curating stories of innovation and connection, eMHIC invites the world to witness how digital platforms are redefining hope and recovery.
The inaugural issue featuring Taimi Allan is now available, inviting readers to join a global movement that is fundamentally changing the landscape of mental health and addiction support.
