Accelerating Innovation in Digital Mental Health: Insights from the MHIN Innovation Showcase, London

On October 9th, 2025, London hosted a landmark event in mental health innovation — the Mental Health Innovation Network’s (MHIN) Innovation Showcase, held in partnership with Harley Street Health District. This sold-out event at Hale House brought together some of the UK’s leading digital mental health innovators, researchers, and policymakers to explore how technology and collaboration are transforming mental health care delivery.

The event featured an impressive lineup of organizations — including North East London Foundation Trust, TMS Insight, Priory, Psyomics, Vitality, Wysa, Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, St John’s Innovation Centre, Meridian Health Ventures, August Equity, Maudsley Charity, Embers the Dragon, Affiniti AI, Speek, and XR Therapeutics — each showcasing solutions that are redefining how care is accessed, delivered, and scaled.

Representing the eMental Health International Collaborative (eMHIC), Executive Director Prof. Anil Thapliyal presented eMHIC’s global work in advancing digital mental health policy and implementation. The event underscored how real-world examples and cross-sector partnerships are driving innovation across systems and improving outcomes for individuals and communities alike.

The day concluded with an engaging panel discussion featuring senior leaders from the NHS, industry, and academia, who examined how to move beyond pilot projects and achieve sustainable, system-wide innovation. Representatives from UCL Partners, South London Health Innovation Network, NHS Innovation Accelerator, and the Association of British HealthTech Industries shared insights on integrating new technologies effectively and equitably.

Aahuti Rai, Founder of MHIN, captured the spirit of the event, noting that “Innovation is crucial for the future of mental health delivery in the UK. The goal of this showcase is to unite stakeholders from every corner of the mental health ecosystem, foster collaboration, and accelerate the translation of proven approaches into everyday care.”

The MHIN Innovation Showcase was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when innovation, collaboration, and purpose align. As digital mental health continues to evolve, events like this play a pivotal role in scaling what works and ensuring that people everywhere receive timely, effective mental health support.
