E-Cog is more comprehensive compared to other trainings. I particularly liked the interactive components, which are often missing in other programs. It combines visual and interactive elements, making it engaging and informative. I would especially recommend it to new graduates or people new to ABCR.

V.S., Occupational Therapist — Ontario, Canada

The E-Cog course provided more theoretical context, especially around cognitive domains and cognitive biases. It helped me think more deeply about what might be going on for clients beyond just running the sessions.

M.G., Occupational Therapist — Ontario, Canada

I found it fascinating... What I love about it is that it’s a very complete program. It covers every step of the way. It’s not just, ‘do these drill-and-practice things’—it’s about doing them in a very systematic, thoughtful way.

M.A., Retired Occupational Therapist — Ontario, Canada

I appreciated the flexibility of the asynchronous format, especially given the time difference between New Zealand and Canada. It allowed me to complete the training at my own pace.

M.B., Psychologist and Cognitive Remediation Program Lead, New Zealand

Without training, I felt nervous and unsure about delivering feedback or the structure of the sessions. Having the training now, especially the exposure to real scenarios, makes the process less intimidating and easier to manage

C.Q., Occupational Therapist — Ontario, Canada

The [E-Cog ABCR] training provided a solid foundation in cognitive health and remediation skills (...). I especially appreciated the third module’s guidance on effective communication, which helped normalize statements therapists might make and encouraged positive, motivating language

S.M., Occupational Therapist — Ontario, Canada

Initiative Overview

The Current Gap

We directly address the 17-year gap from mental health research to clinical implementation. Working directly with experts in the field, we translate evidence-based mental health interventions into clinically applicable skills training for mental health professionals.

Our team is specialized in developing highly effective training in mental health and is open to new collaborations.

Our Solution

Our online learning platform has been successfully utilized by more than 60 mental health professionals across research and clinical practice over the past four years, supported three research projects to increase access to mental health across Canada, over five different sites (Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, British Columbia, Kingston, and Montreal) and have been used by clinicians in Canada, the USA, and Australia.
