GETBETTERGAMES.COM, a startup AI driven gamified digital health platform dedicated to transforming healthcare through gamification.

Our Evolution

The getbettergames-platform aims to become the world’s leading one-stop platform  solution for evidence-based and clinically validated serious games, immersive (VR)  simulations, and AI-driven digital health solutions that empower people to take greater control of their physical and mental wellbeing.

Being built around the evidence that positive behavioural change is the foundation of healthier lives, GETBETTERGAMES.COM combines engaging healthcare games,  virtual reality applications, rehabilitation programs, and personalised behavioural  insights into a single integrated platform. By transforming health data into meaningful  insights, the platform supports patients, healthcare professionals, insurers, employers,  and educational institutions in improving outcomes while reducing costs. The platform addresses some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges, including  growing workforce shortages, rising healthcare expenditure, increasing demand for  preventive care, rehabilitation support, mental health services, and remote patient  monitoring. Through gamified experiences, users are encouraged to build healthier  habits, improve treatment adherence, accelerate recovery, and remain actively engaged throughout their healthcare journey, great outcomes become possible with positive  behavioural changes.

A key milestone in the company’s international growth strategy is its recent collaboration  with MBK.Global, a Qatar-based venture builder and technology ecosystem focused on Industry 4.0 innovation, led by His Excellency Sheikh Mansour Bin Khalifa Al Thani. The partnership will support the further development and international scaling of the  GETBETTERGAMES.COM platform. (LinkedIn

“Our ambition is simple,” says founder Robert W. Cats. “We want to make healthcare  more engaging, more accessible, and more effective through technology. By bringing  artificial intelligence, behavioural science, immersive technologies, and serious gaming together on our platform, we can help so many people adopt healthier lifestyles while  supporting healthcare professionals with valuable objective data.”

Aside having built an amazing team of subject matter experts to bring the getbettergames  ambition to life, the company has also strengthened its medical governance through the  involvement of Professor Dr. Mahmood Adil (LinkedIn) as Chief Medical Officer and  Advisory Board Member. His clinical, public health and digital innovation expertise  helps ensure that published healthcare applications meet high standards of clinical  quality & safety, compliance, , and international best practice. Professor Dr. Mahmood  says: “health is a by-product of physical, mental and social well being. We must be  innovative by tackling global burden of diseases. GETTBETTERGAMES.COM is our  unique effort and ambition to create value for patients, populations and service providers  across the globe” (LinkedIn)

GETBETTERGAMES.COM is positioning itself not merely as a publisher of healthcare games, but as a digital ecosystem connecting healthcare providers, insurers,  employers, educational organisations, technology developers, and patients. By bringing  together validated digital health solutions on one platform, the company seeks to  accelerate the adoption of evidence-based digital healthcare worldwide. “We do not invent the wheel, we just bring the solutions together on our platform to make  lives easier”, says Robert.

GETBETTERGAMES.COM continues to expand its international network of strategic  partners, healthcare experts and technology providers. To be able to do so we invite investors  to help us to preparing for the next stage of commercial growth. The platform has been  designed with compliance in mind, supporting recognised standards for privacy, security, and  accessibility.

Challenges faced and lessons learned

As healthcare systems around the world seek innovative ways to improve outcomes while managing rising demand, GETBETTERGAMES.COM believes gamification, artificial intelligence, and immersive technologies will play an increasingly important role in creating healthier, more resilient societies.

The biggest lesson (so far)

Perhaps the strongest overarching lesson so far has been that whilst building getbettergames it is demonstrated that the hardest part of HealthTech is not building the technology—it is  creating the evidence, trust, economics, governance and ecosystem that allow the technology  to be adopted at scale.

One of the challenges facing is to turning a compelling idea into a clearly defined product using serious games to improve health engagement, not in the least because it’s a broad area.  Narrowing this into a scalable platform proposition rather than becoming a collection of  individual serious games or healthcare applications is key, hence the lesson here is to start  with the platform architecture and the specific problem it solves, not simply with the  technology. Another challenge is to creating a multi-sided ecosystem. Getbettergames sits  between patients/users, healthcare providers, insurers, employers and serious-game  developers with each stakeholder having its own definition of value. With other words, whilst  developing the platform, we needed to find one common value proposition while  demonstrating a specific economic or clinical benefit for each stakeholder. The pressure to launch quickly whilst the healthcare industry requires credible evidence is  another hurdle to overcome. Building evidence takes time and requires appropriate pilot  design, measurement and stakeholder involvement. Therefore this topic is built into our  ‘product roadmap’ from day one where we make a distinction between clinical validation  and usability validation.

AI and DATA represent an important part of our platform where AI creates significant  opportunities for personalisation, engagement and analysis and healthcare data creates  equally significant responsibilities. Dealing with question like “should AI do this” and who  remains accountable / responsible but also what the conditions are have kept us and still keep  our brains busy given the importance of trust, transparency and responsible data governance,  as we believe these can become competitive advantages rather than merely compliance  obligations.

Funding the project in stages is maybe our hardest hurdle to deal with. It is tempting to  present one large funding requirement covering everything from MVP to international scale,  however we now know that investors want (and need) to understand exactly what their

money unlocks. Therefore we learned that requested funding should be connected to tangible  milestones, from early seed to series A, B or C.

Key insights for successful implementation

The biggest implementation risk we face(d) is trying to address too many healthcare  problems at the same time, simply because getbettergames.com has the potential to publish  solutions across mental health, medication adherence, rehabilitation and prevention. But for  implementation, it is important to focus on one or two initial use cases where the value can  be demonstrated convincingly.

To design pilots as evidence-generating programmes will help to produce a measurable  improvement compared with the current situation. This is what certain stakeholders like  insurance companies and healthcare institutions would be interested in. Get the healthcare buyer involved before development is finished is an important part of the  platform development. Engagement starts here to ensure a technology effective, safe and  trustworthy product is being build and (commercially) accepted.

Start ‘small’ before going ‘big’. Spending a lot of time and money already building a MVP  in the early stage may become a waste of both. Start building an MVP with functionality first and then through different stages of development to a scalable platform that demonstrates  repeatability and economics.

Ensure compliance as a product feature needs to be incorporated into the architecture and  included in the project plan from day one.

What most startups will recognize and acknowledge is that you have to build the investment  story around evidence.

Our plans for the remainder of 2026 are defined and whilst still being in the development  phase, however with a MVP based on a strong and validated concept, stakeholders’ interest  following different interviews and positive feedback on our ecosystem potential, our focus is  now on completing the MVP to conduct pilots, build evidence and generate clinical / impact  data. For these we obviously also are looking out for investors who believe building in a  better and healthier society.
