To use stories directly into the subjects in a professional and easy manner is incredible! This will make a massive change for them and me as a teacher.

Fredrik - Teacher Kristianslyst Stavanger

After watching this video, I decided to dive deep in me and my thoughts and consider doing the lessons that Tyrell recommended. Thank you for sharing!

User of the library - Annonymous

I use the supporters platform with my clients, sending them custom reflection pages. This helps them reflect and see their own situation in new perspectives.

The fact that over 700 employees attended the entire 2 hr seminar yesterday says a lot!

Initiative Overview

The Current Gap

There is a gap between the mental health support people need and what society actually makes available. Mental health is often framed as a top-down system in which only professionals can offer help, overlooking digital services and other forms of support that empower people directly.

There is a gap between the needs for mental health support and the available mental health resources in society. Often portrayed in society as a top-down structure where mental health professionals offer the help, often neglecting digital services and other available empowered supporters. Neglecting the preventive efforts and overinvesting in the top part of the pyramid as a reactive approach when “illness” has occurred, instead of working and investing towards prevention and/or early intervention.

THA have been and are continuing to be involved in different networks and movements engaging in policy work on regional, national and international level. Sharing our experience and perspectives, both as a lived experience representative, but also as an innovator and disruptor of the sector.

THA are also involved in and lead larger projects like the “Larviks Løftet”. A municipality program for suicide prevention for youth, where THA offer multilayered support to the different actors across the municipality, that are involved in a collective effort to turn the trend of youth suicide.

Our Solution

The Human Aspect – The Life Experience Library: A free library of resources, including digital lived experiences videos, psychoeducation infographics, articles, podcasts, short documentaries and reflection questions.

A platform where supporters can create curated reflection pages with selected library resources, including digital lived experiences videos, psychoeducation infographics, podcasts, short documentaries and reflection questions. To be used as a tool in therapeutic journeys in-and-between sessions, keeping anonymity, safety and psychological rigour at the core.

Join Our Global Community

Three ways to get involved:

Choose the level that fits.

Key Learnings

Polarization, hyperindividualisation, silo barriers and competitive funding schemes suffocating natural motivation for co-creation and collaboration. We believe in the power of community, co-creation and collaboration, and that this should be the basis of every solution that aims to create impact for a larger population than a community or a nation.
Make sure you collaborate, not only with similar organisations, but across sectors to co-create with actors who specialize in what you don’t, to compliment each other. For all to harness their talents and passion, while creating synergies with others to ensure the best product and results.
If you aim for global impact, a core principle is that local organizations know their regions better than you do. Therefore co-creation and mutual partnerships is the sustainable basis for impact beyond your region or nation. With that as your founding perspective you can grow and spread your design and your product/service into other local contexts, together with local actors.

Looking Ahead

THA plans for the coming years are split into the three visionary focus areas:

1. Reshape how the education system prepares pupils for life, by widening their perspectives, enriching their conversations and increasing their psychosocial skills (life mastery)

2. Reshape how Mental Health supporters humanize the therapeutic journey, by infusing the users’ journey with Digital Lived Experiences to enrich the conversations and self-work

3. Create new spaces, events, meetups, and partnerships with existing community spaces, where people meet physically and digitally to connect and widen their perspectives through conversations fueled by human stories
THA welcomes collaborations across the globe, especially with mental health actors offering services to their users in person, online or hybrid. THA is open for partnerships across implementation, research and cocreation.
THA has broadened their vision from redefining mental health globally to enriching conversations and widening perspectives. This vision creates the foundation for the three specific focus areas that THA will focus on moving forward, listed under future plans.
