This project addresses a knowledge gap at a global level with respect to the challenges that DMH can address to overcome the gap between resources and demand for mental health treatment around the world.
Steven Locke, MD, DLFAPA, is a pioneer in digital mental health, telemental health, and behavioral informatics. As past Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, he co-founded the joint Harvard/MIT course on healthcare technology innovation. Dr. Locke also co-founded iHope Network (acquired by Headspace in 2022), the first telemental health company to deliver evidence-based, protocol-guided psychotherapies.
He now practices telepsychiatry, licensed across six states and consults to digital health companies and HCOs on technology, risk, and the evolving standard of care and serves as a peer reviewer for JMIR and as a Harvard iLab mentor.
Our survey report, when completed, will provide guidance to clinical leaders, educators, policy makers, public health officials, epidemiologists and researchers to assist them in understanding the potential for digital mental health to address the gaps between demand and resources on a country-by-country basis.
