Initiative Overview

The Current Gap

Most mental fitness resources still frame the mind through a clinical or deficit lens — something broken to be fixed. There’s a gap for a proactive, gym-style approach that treats mental fitness as a trainable skill anyone can build, regardless of diagnosis, in a way that feels approachable rather than clinical.

GetMentalFit is solo-founded and self-funded to date. We’re actively seeking connections with organizations, peer support networks, and digital mental health communities who share this recognition-first approach, and welcome any guidance on growing responsibly within this space.

Our Solution

GetMentalFit.online is a gamified mental fitness gym: 91 games across 10 training stations covering attention, stability, technology habits, connection, recovery, and growth. Built on a no-diagnosis, recognition-first framework and over 30 years of peer support and behavioral health practice, it’s live now and already benefiting the people using it, with continued development funded through Ko-fi and an upcoming Kickstarter campaign.

Key Learnings

As a solo founder with 30+ years in peer support and behavioral health, the biggest challenge has been building and funding a full mental fitness gym — 91 games and a complete curriculum — without a team. Balancing platform development, content creation, and outreach simultaneously has required careful prioritization.
Ground the work in real practice, not just theory. A recognition-first, no-diagnosis framework resonates because it comes from decades of direct peer support experience, not clinical distance. Starting lean and building in public, even as a solo founder, made it possible to launch and iterate quickly
Mental fitness challenges don’t stop at borders, and neither should the tools to build it. Connecting with international networks like eMHIC brings in perspectives, standards, and partnerships that a solo founder can’t develop alone, and helps ensure the platform grows responsibly at scale.

Looking Ahead

Expand the 91-game library with deeper, more polished content and stronger lesson/learning material. Grow the Ambassador program to build a distributed community of supporters. Fund this next phase through Ko-fi and an upcoming Kickstarter campaign (“20 Million Minds”) opening September 22nd.
Open to partnerships with peer support organizations, behavioral health networks, and digital mental health communities. Contact: [email protected] or via getmentalfit.online/ambassador.
A widely-used mental fitness gym recognized as a trusted, non-clinical resource within the peer support and digital mental health ecosystem — helping people everywhere train mental fitness the same way they’d train physical fitness.
