The 2025 recipient of the Leadership Excellence Award for Australia is Rachel Green.
In Australia, lived experience and digital design are reshaping how mental health support is delivered. Guided by a simple idea of timely, tailored, human care, Rachel Green turns innovation into everyday help.
At the helm of SANE Australia, she led the co-design of the country’s first digital psychosocial recovery platform, bringing navigation, peer connection, and guidance to more than 200,000 people each year. Built for scale and equity, the platform blends personal goal setting, moderated communities, and warm referrals so that no one journeys alone.
Her influence spans both reform and delivery. From co-founding the National Mental Health Commission to shaping the Contributing Life Framework, directing suicide prevention trials, and leading the creation of peer-based services such as eFriend, she has consistently championed inclusive, integrated, and evidence-informed care.
Across all her work, Rachel Green exemplifies co-design, digital innovation, and care models grounded in lived experience, demonstrating leadership that pairs evidence with empathy.
Congratulations to Rachel Green.
