Dr Daniel Fung

Institute of Mental Health Singapore

The 2025 recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award is Dr Daniel Fung.

Dr Daniel Fung is a visionary who has spent decades turning smart ideas into real-world care that is earlier, fairer, and closer to home. As a child and adolescent psychiatrist and CEO of Singapore’s Institute of Mental Health, he bridges clinic and technology with a clear focus on putting people first.

From early online initiatives like Roc-N-Ash and The Quiet Room to shaping national telepsychiatry guidelines, he laid the groundwork long before digital care became standard. During COVID-19, he led IMH’s rapid shift to virtual services, helping families maintain access to essential support.

He drove the implementation of Singapore’s unified EPIC electronic record, linking inpatient and community services, and supported population-level insights. Nationally, he championed platforms such as Mindline.sg and explored digital phenotyping to personalise care.

Internationally, as President of IACAPAP, he launched the world’s first open-access textbook in child and adolescent mental health and expanded regional collaboration.

Dr Daniel Fung exemplifies leadership, innovation, and global impact in advancing digital mental health care.

Congratulations to Dr Daniel Fung.
