Calling Young Mental Health Advocates: Apply Now for Mental Health America’s Youth Policy Accelerator!

eHMIC

eMHIC’s partner organization, Mental Health America (MHA) is now accepting applications for its 2025 Youth Policy Accelerator (YPA)—an exciting and unique opportunity for young leaders (ages 18-25) and changemakers passionate about shaping mental health policy to make a real impact on national mental health initiatives.

This prestigious program runs from April to December 2025, bringing together 10 emerging advocates to collaborate on youth-focused mental health policy solutions. Participants will gain hands-on experience in policymaking, advocacy, and peer support, with direct engagement from industry leaders, decision-makers, and mental health professionals.

This program is a living example of an organization actively working to build the Global Mental Health Gift Economy, where experts—alongside passionate young advocates—contribute their time, experience, and knowledge to create meaningful policy change. By fostering collaboration, shared learning, and mutual support, the YPA embodies the idea that improving mental health is a collective effort that transcends transactions and thrives on community-driven impact.

Why Apply?

  • Expert-led policy training – Learn from industry leaders about policy development and youth mental health advocacy.
  • Direct impact on legislation – Work alongside decision-makers to shape policies supporting youth mental health.
  • Networking and collaboration – Join a nationwide community of passionate young leaders.
  • A $3,000 stipend – Recognizing participants’ time and contributions.
