Dr. Lyndy Matthews (Clinical Director, Pathways NZ and Clinical Lead, Whakarongorau, New Zealand), and Lisa Toi (Senior Manager, Francis Health, New Zealand) spend their time at the eMHIC congress discussing the development of WAKA — a digital self-management tool for New Zealanders with schizophrenia. Initially, Lyndy and Lisa’s study set out to test the acceptability of WAKA as a digital self-management tool in 2017-2018 for people with schizophrenia that felt neglected by support networks, and also test the efficacy of the tool at being able to assist in social integration. Through this presentation, they provide insights into the successes, challenges, and learnings they encountered during the development process.
