Nicholas Watters

Establishment Chair of eMHIC Special Interest Group on Workplace and Workforce

Nicholas Watters is the Director of Access to Quality Mental Health Services at the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC). In this role, he leads multiple portfolios aimed at ensuring those living in Canada have access to equitable and culturally safe and appropriate mental health services and supports when, where, and how they choose that are stigma free and recovery oriented. Nicholas is part of the e-Mental Health International Collaborative(eMHIC) Global Leadership Council and a member of the Digital Health Equity working group for Health Canada. Nicholas is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement award for eMental Health Development, Implementation, and Forward-Thinking Leadership by eMHIC.

Prior to joining the MHCC in 2011, Nicholas was the Senior Advisor, Knowledge Transfer and Communications at the Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance of Canada. Nicholas has bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and Communication Studies from the University of Windsor, and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Institute of Business.
