LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

In loving memory of

GREGOR HENDERSON

for Progressing the Digital Mental Health Domain Globally

Gregor Henderson

STRATEGIC ADVISER, CONSULTANT, COACH & MENTOR

This year, we acknowledge the late Gregor Henderson, eMHIC’s champion and friend, with a Lifetime Achievement Award.

Gregor held various public and mental health leadership roles in the UK and around the world, with the primary aim of improving access and system navigation in mental health. However, he discovered his true passion within the digital mental health domain. He believed wholeheartedly that digital health tools are essential to helping people access the information, care, support, and treatment they need when they need it. Further, he could see that by aligning digital tools with the needs of individuals and communities, we can achieve higher-impact outcomes and create magic.

His association with eMHIC was pivotal in his career and filled with many engaging moments. He had the privilege of witnessing what the future of digital mental health could look like and this filled him with hope and comfort.

In his governance role at eMHIC, he had the pleasure of working and liaising with some of the world’s best minds and leaders in digital therapeutics, whether it be working with refugee populations, people impacted by natural disasters, remote and rural communities, adolescents and youth in low to middle-income countries to name a few key areas.

He was proud to have been integral to eMHIC’s Fireside Chat Webinars, Think Tanks, Roundtables, and the Digital Mental Health International Congress. Gregor was one of life’s passionate and lifelong learners, and eMHIC’s impactful work always reminded him there is still much to learn and do differently. He believed value-based collaboration is critical in achieving high-impact outcomes if we want this world to be a better place for ourselves and future generations.
Before his passing, we shared with him that he would be recognised tonight. True to his beautiful nature, he was deeply honoured, humbled, and overcome with emotion. He shared that it has been a professional and personal joy to have led pioneering and transformative work in mental health, advancing digital mental health policy and strategy at the most inspiring edge of thinking.

To say we have lost a great leader in our work is an understatement. To say that eMHIC and the network with whom he was connected will miss him is even more so. Gregor Henderson was an inspiring force who touched many lives. We are immensely proud to have called him a friend and to recognise him with a special lifetime achievement award for progressing the Digital Mental Health Domain Development Globally.
