The 2024 recipient of the Country Leadership Award for the USA is Glen Moriarty.

Glen is an extraordinary individual who, in a world filled with mental health crises, took bold action. Rather than offering words of concern, he invested his resources and future to create a beacon of hope.

In 2013, Glen launched 7Cups, a groundbreaking initiative with an ambitious mission: to establish a free, global, online mental health system. From its humble beginnings, 7Cups has evolved into the world’s largest digital mental health platform, providing evidence-based self-help programs, expert training, and robust partnerships with leading universities. It has touched the lives of over 73 million people across 190 countries, offering support through 570,000 trained volunteers, all at no cost. With over 2 billion messages exchanged, it stands as a testament to the power of compassion and ingenuity.

Glen embodies qualities that set him apart: deep empathy for others, steadfast perseverance through adversity, and a creative approach to leadership. His work has not only expanded the reach of mental health support but has also significantly reduced health disparities and human suffering. In a field where many lose sight of the core mission, Glen’s dedication reminds us of the true essence of compassionate care. His leadership exemplifies what it means to prioritize impact over self-interest, inspiring a generation of innovators. Moreover, his efforts to include marginalized populations and enhance accessibility through technological advancements highlight his profound commitment to inclusivity and equality. By harnessing the power of technology and community, he has created a platform that truly meets people where they are.

Let us be inspired by Glen’s spirit of creativity and the dedication that has driven this incredible journey.

Congratulations Glen!
