In this interview on Fox 13’s Good Day Seattle, the CEO of Crisis Text Line – Dena Trujillo – talks about how the organisation serves people suffering mental ill health in the USA.

Recently, 1 in 5 users was dealing with isolation and loneliness, but Crisis Text Line provides support for the full range of mental ill health diseases. The text line’s trained volunteers and clinical supervisors help people wherever they are by providing support at the users’ fingertips.

Not only does this digital mental health service bridge spatial divides, it also speeds up access to care. Its triage system means people with the most acute or severe needs are able to get help quickly. The digital tool is 21st-century ready, meeting the needs of the new generation who prefer texting over speaking – an effective, proven way to encourage young people to find help.
