From 2011 to 2017, she was Director of Programmes at The Royal Foundation, building a portfolio of projects including the Invictus Games, Coach Core, United for Wildlife and Heads Together. 

Pat Deegan

For over 30 years, Pat has been a thought leader and disruptive innovator in the field of behavioral health recovery. Pat Deegan’s Recovery Approach includes the award-winning CommonGround Software, Recovery Academy, Medication Empowerment, Certified Personal Medicine Coaching and the Hearing Distressing Voices Simulation. Pat is an activist in the survivor movement and has lived her own journey of recovery after being diagnosed with schizophrenia as a teenager. She has held several academic appointments, has numerous publications, and has carried a message of hope for recovery to audiences around the world.

Sandy Little

Sandy has been a social worker for 37 years, and has lived and practiced in the Northwest Territories for 26 years. Her experience includes medical social work, children’s mental health and family therapy, crisis work, suicide prevention, social work education, IPV research, and mental health program/policy development with remote, northern communities. Sandy has been part of a team implementing Stepped Care 2.0 in the Northwest Territories in collaboration with seven regional health and social services authorities.

Dr. Julie Smith

Andrew Slater

Andrew is a visionary change maker in New Zealand’s e-health landscape. As Aotearoa New Zealand’s youngest CEO in the health sector, Andrew solves heath issues by identifying solutions through both a traditional and innovative lens. Throughout his career he has been committed to changing the country’s health system from the inside out, and growing people so they can deliver better health outcomes.

 

Andrew has been CEO of Whakarongorau Aotearoa (formerly Homecare Medical), a social enterprise providing national telehealth services, since its establishment in 2015. The organisation has grown exponentially in that time from 150 people to today’s workforce of 2,500. Andrew is dedicated to solving inequitable access to health care by creating partnerships in provincial and rural areas to support ethnic communities including Māori and Pasifika, empowering local organisations to provide solutions for the own communities.

 

Whakarongorau Aotearoa’s 24/7 services operate across seven digital channels including voice, webchat and text, and are supported by clinical teams including more than 200 nurses, paramedics and specialists.

Patricia Lingley-Pottie

Co-founder, CEO and President of the Strongest Families Institute

Dr. Lingley-Pottie has 34 years of pediatric nursing experience with expertise in research methods, scale development and the conduct of randomized clinical trials. Her research work centers around harnessing the advantages of technology to deliver accessible and timely distance, evidence-based interventions to children, youth, adults and families.

 

Over the past 20 years Dr. Lingley-Pottie’s expertise has been focused on: innovative e-system development for online services and design for improved organizational efficiencies; development and evaluation of evidence-based programs; outcome evaluation; telephone and virtual coaching development, training and digital system integration; client-centered care; system scalability; scale development; military families and clinical trial design.

 

As a Scientist at the Izaac Walton Killam (IWK) Health Centre and Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Dalhousie University, Dr. Lingley-Pottie continually seeks opportunities and new research partners to develop new programs and to utilize, customize and enhance the IRIS platform (Intelligent Research and Intervention Software) , a sophisticated ehealth information management system she helped develop, to provide innovative solutions to bridge the access gap.

Anna Elders

Clinical Lead, Just A Thought and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Anna is a mental health nurse practitioner working in clinical practice in primary care at Tāmaki Health, a CBT therapist and the clinical lead at Just a Thought, New Zealand’s digital eCBT service. Anna is the chair of the Digital Wellbeing Industry Group, a SIG of the Digital Health Association and an honorary teaching fellow at the University of Auckland with a special interest in psychological interventions, trauma-informed care and digital mental health solutions.

Roger McIntyre

Professor of Psychiatry and Pharmacology at the University of Toronto, Executive Director of the Brain and Cognition Discovery Foundation.

Frontline Workforce and Evidence Creation

Dr. McIntyre was named by Clarivate Analytics in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds”. This distinction is given by publishing the largest number of articles that rank among those most frequently cited by researchers globally in 21 broad fields of science and social science during the previous decade. Dr. McIntyre has authored/co-authored more than 825 articles/manuscripts and has edited and/or co-edited several textbooks on mood disorders.

 

Dr. McIntyre is involved in multiple research endeavours which primarily aim to characterize the phenomenology, neurobiology, and novel therapeutics of mood disorders.  Dr. McIntyre has been especially interested in identifying innovative, rapid acting psychotropic treatments for mood disorders. Dr. McIntyre’s research has also extended into public health and implementation research at the population-based level.

 

Dr. McIntyre is extensively involved in medical education.  He is a highly sought-after speaker at both national and international meetings. He has received several teaching awards from the University of Toronto, Department of Psychiatry and has been a recipient of the joint Canadian Psychiatric Association (CPA) / Council of Psychiatric Continuing Education Award for the Most Outstanding Continuing Education Activity in Psychiatry in Canada.

 

Dr. McIntyre has also contributed extensively to clinical practice guidelines. For example, Dr. McIntyre is the lead author the Florida Best Practice Psychotherapeutic Medication Guidelines for Adults with Major Depressive Disorder and Bipolar Disorder. 

Chris Wright

National Advisor for Digital Mental Health/Head of Programme Digital Mental Health, Scotland

Chris is a system designer, technologist and expert in the field of digital implementation in mental health.  In a career spanning over 20 years he has lead a number of ground-breaking, award winning service transformation programmes that have changed fundamentally how mental health treatments and support is delivered across the population of Scotland.

 

For the past 8 years Chris has held significant and influential national roles within both the NHS and Scottish Government and is currently working in Scottish Government as the National Advisor for Digital Mental Health and as the Head of the Digital Mental Health Programme which he established in 2020. 

 

Chris is passionate about delivering innovative, high quality, sustainable digital services at large scale within mental health speaking regularly at public forums about his experiences and approaches. He work currently is focused on the development of strategy, policy, service and innovative technologies and is working to change the culture across Health and Cares services to maximise the impact and the adoption of digital in mental health.
